![]() ![]() I decided to buy refurb so I could have solid stereo/surround sound without spending more $$ than I wanted. I'm here since I'm gonna buy another one. I patted it with my towel and thought 'It's a goner.' Turned it on, connected, and started jamming! Holy smokes, it is really waterproof! For around $100 this thing is pretty nice. I brought the music and I just drowned it. do you really notice the subtle nuances of the melodies of Eminem? (what's that 'new rope' analogy?) I remember one time I really just put this thing in some water. Mono huh? So when you're dancing around the pool deck with your boat drink. Then there's that JBL app that connects multiple JBL devices together for Party Mode or Stereo. I don't know if it really fast charges, but if you're writing a review complaining about USB C capabilities you should understand USB C tech. I have a Tmo phone with a USB C fast charging charger. I even took it on my motorcycle (i asked too much of it for th at though, to be honest) I use the USB C port to charge this with any cable I have handy. That's reawesomed! I take it to the pool I take it everywhere. I bring my JBL 4 to the party and the folks with 3's or less hide their speakers. It just seems lazy at the end of the day. if you're going to use USB-C, why require the old school charging cables. All in all, I like it, but a couple pretty simple things could have made this a quite good product, and frankly, the USB-C one is a pretty big let down. It's cheaper than ever to implement some higher quality audio transfer codecs, but we're stuck with SBC on this. Also, I know it's a portable bluetooth speaker, but only utilizing the SBC audio codec really limits the audio quality potential. ![]() So, that was a major bummer and kind of a terrible decision for design. it has to use a USB-A to USB-C cable, which seriously limits its potential, and ensures I have to have another cable. You can't use a Power Delivery charger with a Type-C to Type-C cable to charge this. Woot! Finally, nearly all my devices will use one cable to charge! That's the dream, right? Well, it uses a Type-C port, but doesn't really utilize any benefits of the Type C. The bad things: the description says it's USB Type-C charging. It isn't terribly laggy with youtube video streaming, so it's not the worst out there. ![]() It's a powerful little speaker that has pretty good sound quality. At the end of the day, it's portable bluetooth speaker, but it has some shortcomings that I think are really short sighted. *Please note*the JBL charge 4 does not include a USB wall adapter. So, I'll say that overall, I like this speaker. ![]() Jbl bass radiator passive radiators deliver powerful, ear catching JBL sound that resonates loud and clear.
